Do SEO without a plugin"s help

Do WordPress SEO without a plugin

Doing SEO for a blog website or service website is of enormous importance because it is very difficult to get organic traffic without doing SEO.

In this article, we will talk about how to optimize a WordPress site without the help of a plugin. Sometimes the use of so many plugins can slow down the website speed. I am not discouraging anyone to use one, rather we need to have a clear idea of how SEO is done and everything here will be in our command. Let’s get started.

  1.  Title Talk

Important things to remember while writing a perfect title for the content.

Less than 60 characters: The title must be less than 60 characters.

Focused Keyword at the beginning: The focused keyword must be at the beginning of the title and should sound natural and logical.

Marketing strategy: The title must sound appealing and interesting so that the visitor clicks the title when they see it.

Updated: People search on search engines to get the updated news. So they will click those titles that indicate a clear signal about the latest news.

     2.URL Talk:

Important things to consider about URL.

URL must be succinct

Focus keywords should be at the beginning

   3. Content-Length:

Content length is also very important while doing on-page SEO. We have to keep in mind some important factors. These are:

The content length of competitors: The content length of competitors that are ranked on the first page of Google is an important consideration. You can follow different strategies while choosing the content length. For example, you can find out the content length of the top three competitors and make an average and get an idea about the content length of a specific page. You also can follow the competitors with the highest content length and try to beat that competitor.

  4. Image Talk

Image optimization is very important because a large amount of traffic can be drawn to your website through image search. It is very easy to optimize images on the WordPress website as we get all the options to optimize images while uploading the image. It is good to fill in all the options. Also, we should save the images on our computer in a readable format. Never save it like abc.png or 123.jpg. If we save it with a proper name it will get a proper URL when uploaded.

Determining the number of images in content is also important because if you want to rank on the first page of Google you have to keep in mind what is the number of images on those content that are already ranked on Google at the keywords you are using. We also have to give the image alt text of each image and use the main keyword and its variation as alternative text.

5. Keyword percentage:

Keyword percentage is an important consideration while doing on-page SEO. So you can get an idea about keyword percentage from the top competitors that are ranked on Google’s first page. You can make an average of the top three competitors. Another way to determine your keyword percentage can be the word count of the content*.5%to .8%.

Another important thing is using keywords in H1 and H2( that heading 1 and heading 2), known as H1 tag and H2 tag.

6. Content Refresh

Refreshing or updating content is also important for Search engine optimization. Google wants to show the latest information on any keyword on its first page. So if we do not update our content within a fixed interval like 4-6 months Google assumer that these contents are backdated. Google will rather rank those contents that are published later on the same keyword if we do not update our contents.

7. Keyword cannibalization:

Keyword cannibalization is a very popular term in the world of search engine optimization. It occurs when the same keyword is used for two different posts on any website. The search engine finds it very difficult to decide which keyword to rank. So it stops ranking both the post. Thus the same keywords cannibalize each other which is known as keyword cannibalization.

8. Inbound and outbound links

Inbound or internal links and outbound or external links both are important for a website. Inbound link means giving the link to another post on the same website. Outbound link means giving the link of another website for a specific topic inside the post of your website.

For a standard SEO, you can keep the ratio of 3:1 that is for every 3 internal links you can keep 3 external links.

Above mentioned points are very important while doing SEO without a plugin’s help.
