Keyword research presentation includes all the work necessary to prepare your keyword research sheet and present it to your clients. If you are still worrying about how to do keyword research for your clients and how to present it to your client then this article is for you.

If you are great at keyword research but not sure about how to present it well before your clients then it may hamper your progress as a keyword researcher. Step 1: Find out the type of sites:

When you get an assignment as a keyword researcher at first you have to make sure you know the following things 

  1. Whether you are doing keyword research for blogging websites

2. For affiliate site

2.1 Keyword research for informational queries or informative articles

2.2 Keyword research for transactional queries buying articles

2.3 Keyword research for navigational queries

3. Keyword research for higher CPC and RPM

  4. Keyword research for E-commerce sites

For affiliate sites:

 In affiliate marketing sites you usually write content to bring traffic and make sales. Thus there is a little difference in choosing keywords for your affiliate sites although the main process is the same as blogging sites. You have to take into consideration your potential customer’s search queries. Usually, there are three types of search queries. These are

Informational queries:

Informational queries are general queries and usually contain extensive-term. All the search queries that we make without any intention to make any purchase or go to a specific site fall under the umbrella of informational queries. From the following example, we can understand what are informational queries.

Navigational search queries:

Navigational search queries are predetermined search queries by the searchers. They are determined to go to a specific site by typing those queries. If you are not the owner of that brand, these types of keywords are less likely to bring visitors to your site. Transactional search queries:

Transactional search queries are queries that are made by the searcher with a view to making a purchase immediately or in near future. It may include a brand name like “Nescafe” or words like “top”, “best”, “order” or terms like “instant coffe”

Keyword research for higher CPC and RPM:

CPC(Cost per click) and RPM(Page revenue per thousand impressions) are two important considerations while doing keyword research. The more the CPC and RPM the more the revenue you will generate. While doing keyword research we have to keep in mind the CPC and RPM of the keyword.

How to find out high CPC keywords?

There are two methods of finding high CPC keywords,

  1.  Manual Method
  2. From Websites like amazon.com
a) Manual Method:

After you make a query in the search engine if you see that there are ads running on the first and second page, it can give you an indication that the keyword has some CPC. The more the ads on the first page the more the CPC. You can also use some extension in your browser like ubersuggest to see the CPC while searching. When you manually type a keyword in the search engine, you can see the CPC in the search bar if you have extensions like ubersuggest or keyword surfer. Look at the screenshot below

b) From websites like amazon.com:

You can find out high CPC keywords from amazon.com and target those to generate more revenue from your AdSense. Find out your niche on Amazon and find out the related brand names. While doing keyword research try to include those brand names.

Keyword research for E-commerce websites:

Keyword research for an E-commerce site is basically also the same. The main difference is you have to have proper knowledge about your client’s

Location of the business

Industries they belong

Step 2: Necessary data needed to be included in the keyword research presentation sheet:

  1. Keywords: All the keywords, related and matching keywords
  2. Keyword Difficulty: Difficulty score from any tools like ahref and SEMrush
  3. Traffic potential: How much traffic your client is likely to get if he/she can rank on the first page.
  4. Monthly search volume: Average monthly searches for that keyword
  5. Global volume: Average global searches for that keyword.
  6. CPC: Cost per click for that keyword from ahref or SEMrush
  7. Allintitle: The number of pages that have included that keyword in their post title
  8. allinURL: The number of pages that have used that keyword in their URLs
  9. Number of exact match keywords on first-page result: Find out the number of pages that have exactly covered your topic
  10. The average number of backlinks needed to rank on the first page of Google
  11. Manual research result: You can mention your manual search result that is whether your manual search result is good or bad
  12. Recommendation: Whether you recommend your client to use this keyword or not
  13. Parent topic: If you have found the parent topic from any tools you can mention it.

Step-3: Present before your clients for recommendation and feedback:

In this stage, you will present your keyword research sheet before your clients and ask them to provide feedback and recommendation so that you can take necessary action for revision and up-gradation as per the client’s requirement.

Step 4: Final sheet presentation:

In this stage, you have to make a final sheet making all the changes according to your client’s needs. If you include all the details mentioned above in the sheet and do changes according to the client’s needs then your client is surely going to love your work and give you more chances in the future.
